The best organic wine is made in Grocka

At the just concluded Balkan International Wine Competition (BIWC), in the competition of over 900 wines, the organic winery Plavinci from the Belgrade municipality of Grocka won the “Trophy for the best organic wine” for white organic wine Selena from the Tamjanika grape variety.

The decision on the Grand Trophy in each category is made by a special panel composed of the holder of the title “Master of Wine” consisting of Konstantinos Lazarakis (Greece), Caroline Gilby (Great Britain), Rod Smith (France) and Andreas Wickhoff (Austria). Master of Wine is the most prestigious title for wine evaluators in the world, which makes this trophy extremely significant.

Plavinci Winery is the first certified organic winery in Serbia.
